Slow cooker Mongolian Beef

This recipe is really simple with only a couple of steps, no need for your hob this week. This will feed 5 people so if you do have any leftovers it can be frozen for up to 3 months. We have served with noodles but rice and broccoli would be a great addition.

Ingredients;

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak thinly sliced against the grain

  • 1/4 cup Cornflour

  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil

  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic

  • 1 tsp Minced Ginger

  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce (We have used light but if you prefer a stronger flavour use dark)

  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 1/2 cup Green Onions

Method

  1. Place flank steak in a bowl with the cornflour and toss to coat evenly, then add to the slow cooker.

  2. Place the sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar and water in the slow cooker. Stir to mix together.

  3. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-5 hours.

  4. Stir in the spring onions and then serve.
